ViaCon has today signed an agreement to acquire Tubosider (United Kingdom) Limited – hereby referred to as Tubosider UK, a leading manufacturer and supplier of corrugated steel solutions for StormWater management systems in the United Kingdom. Through this acquisition ViaCon further strengthens its market leadership position in Europe for corrugated steel-based civil engineering solutions, providing an even stronger platform for delivering competitive and sustainable customer solutions.

Founded in 1987, Tubosider UK is the leading manufacturer and supplier of corrugated steel solutions for StormWater Management systems in the UK and Irish markets. Tubosider UK also supplies products for bridges and culverts. The headquarter is based in St. Helens at Sutton in the UK.

The acquisition is aligned with ViaCon’s strategy to grow further into Western Europe and to build a stronger foothold in the very promising StormWater management business. StormWater solutions reduce the risks of, among others, flooding as a consequence of the increasing frequency of heavy rainfalls in Europe driven by the ongoing climate changes. ViaCon’s unique solutions based on corrugated steel structures for StormWater Solutions bring a better total cost for the customers whilst also strongly supporting the growing sustainability agendas in all markets.

I am very pleased about the acquisition and going forward we see very promising operational as well as commercial synergies. It will further strengthen and build ViaCon’s StormWater Solutions business—a business we target to grow on the very promising UK market. The acquisition also gives us a platform to grow our Bridges & Culverts Solutions business in the United Kingdom”, says Stefan Nordström, CEO of ViaCon.

ViaCon acquires 100% of the shares in Tubosider UK—including its subsidiary—and becomes its sole owner, on the 1st of December 2021. Tubosider UK sales amount to approximately EUR 9 million (approximately SEK 90 million) with a normalized EBITDA margin of approximately 10 percent. The financing of the acquisition will be handled within the existing financial setup.

Tubosider UK was part of Tubosider S.p.A. and previously ViaCon has already acquired two entities from Tubosider S.p.A. focusing on StormWater solutions in Hungary and in France.
