Welcome to ViaCon’s quarterly sustainability newsletter. This edition highlights how we combine verified data with durable design. Our EPDs have been refreshed across 18 product lines, and we spotlight three projects where our solutions minimized disruption and lifecycle impact – from a fast installation over a railway in Norway, to pavement reinforcement in Bulgaria, and a low‑cover fire‑water tank In Denmark.
In 2025, we completed updates to the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for 18 manufactured product lines, ensuring they reflect the most current lifecycle assessment data and remain aligned with relevant standards and verification requirements.
Steel does the job with less. In infrastructure and industrial applications, modern corrugated and coated steel delivers comparable service life with a lighter footprint—lower material use, faster installation, and true circularity at end of life. This article explains why specifying steel, and specifying it well, can reduce project risk and whole‑life cost while supporting ESG goals.
In Lillehammer, a pre‑assembled corrugated steel arch was installed during a single 72‑hour rail possession -minimizing closures and site traffic while delivering long‑life performance with corrosion‑protected, recyclable steel.
In Bulgaria, targeted reinforcement on the Trakia Highway strengthens the pavement structure to curb rutting and extend service life, delivered faster, with less material and disruption, and built for reliable, long performance.
At Norlys HQ in Denmark, a prefabricated, ultra‑low‑cover corrugated steel sprinkler tank secures fire‑water with a smaller site footprint. Less excavation, fewer truck movements and faster install, while the recyclable steel and long service life support lower lifecycle impact.
